Adapting to Climate Change Facing the Consequence
EL Ing. Juan Carlos Calderón López de la Facultad de Agricultura e Investigación Agrícola aperturó el 5 de junio y cerró el pasado 23 de junio el curso Internacional “Adapting to Climate Change: Facing the Consequence” que ofreció la Facultad de Environment and Resource Studies, de la Universidad Mahidol, Bangkok Tailandia, donde se encuentra actualmente trabajando como Foreign Expert para dicha facultad.

Dicho curso Internacional se realizó con la ayuda de Cooperacion Tailandesa (TICA), con 19 participantes de diferentes partes del mundo como: Asia, Latino América, Oceanía.

Los temas que se presentaron fueron:

• Overview of the adaptation context of human dimensions of global change
• Climate change and its impact
• Related greenhouse gas mitigation to natural resilience system
• Climate Change Adaptation Policy in Thailand
• Adaptation to agricultural sector, water, drought, flooding
• Technology, capacity building enhancing for climate change adaptation
• Adaptation of water and agriculture sector to climate change
• Effects of climate change on water system and adaptation
• Behavioral economics and adaptation to climate change
• Adaptation strategy in developing countries
• Climate change adaptation: Plan for the future
• The impact of flooding in 2011, economic losses and other effect: Strategy to cope with changing of climate
• Climate change and adaptation strategies for human health
• Preparedness of the Tourism industry to cope with climate change
• A Framework for Climate Change Vulnerability Assessments"
• Adaptation to coastal zone.

Adapting to Climate Change: Facing the ConsequenceLos cuales los estará recibiendo el Coordinador de la Carrera de Gestión Ambiental Ing. Jorge López Padilla, igual que la información del Curso Internacional “Natural DisasterManagement”.

Esta abierta la convocatoria para participar en el curso Internacional de “Waste Management and Wastewater Treatment for Sustainability” que se impartirá en noviembre del 2017 y la fecha límite para postular es 27/07/2017, dicho curso lo está ofreciendo la Universidad de Mahidol con fondos de la Cooperación Tailandesa el perfil del candidato es el siguiente:

Salvadoran, living in El Salvador.
- Below 40 years of age
- Currently working in relevant areas with experience more than two (2) years.
- Graduated with Bachelor degree or higher degree in relevant fields.

Moreover, candidates must possess qualifications as specified in “Guideline for Thailand’s Annual International Training Course Programme” No. 2 “Qualifications.”
- Should be an officer or agent (preferably from government agencies) currently working in the area related to the training topic.
- Must have a degree and/or professional experience suitable to the training topic.
- Must have a good command of English.
- Must be in good health.
- Nomination of female candidates is encouraged.
- TICA reserves the rights to revoke fellowship offered to participants who are pregnant during the period of training.
